The data we hold, and why it's so little
We're a comparison site, not a casino, so we collect far less than you might assume. This explains exactly what we do hold and what you can ask us to do with it.
Play Case Listrespects your privacy and keeps data collection to the minimum a site like this needs to run. We don't sell personal data, and we never see anything about your activity once you've clicked through to an operator.
What we collect
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we hold your name, email and message so we can reply.
- Basic analytics.Aggregated, non-identifying data about which pages are read and how people arrive, so we know what's useful. It isn't tied to you personally.
- Cookie choices.Your consent preference is stored in your own browser so we don't ask on every visit.
What we don't collect
We don't take payment details, we don't run accounts, and we have no window into anything you do on an operator's site after you leave ours. When you follow an affiliate link, the operator may record that the visit came from us, but that's their data under their policy, not ours.
Why we're allowed to hold it
Under UK GDPR, we rely on your consent for analytics and non-essential cookies, and on legitimate interest for replying to a message you chose to send. Essential cookies that keep the site working don't need consent.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold on you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email editors@playcaselist.comand we'll handle it. If you're unhappy with how we've responded, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data regulator.
How long we keep things
Contact messages are kept only as long as the conversation needs, then deleted. Analytics are aggregated and retained in summary form. We don't hoard data we've no use for.
